This morning when Elyssa woke, she called for me to get her out of her crib (which is a normal occurrence). We are keeping her in that thing as long as we can! Freedom for her to get out of her bed is a fear of mine and Mark’s. We don’t look forward to the days when she can easily get out of bed and show up in our room all hours of the night. I believe, however, those days are fast approaching as Elyssa has started climbing out of her crib. The move to a big bed is not far away, I’m afraid.
Back to my story. After Elyssa woke, I took her to the bathroom. I pulled down her pants and sat her on her potty. As she sat and pee peed, she tooted. She looked at me and said, “Do you smell that?” I laughed and said, “No.” She said, “That was me.” I laughed again. Then she said, “No, that was you!” In response, I said, “No, that was you.” Finally, she said, “No, that was Daddy!”
I had a good laugh to start my day! Thank you Lord, for my little girls!
I love it! That gave me a good laugh this morning too! Kids will keep you smiling! Did you ever find the tooter? 🙂
That just gave me a good laugh! We are definitely an Alabama/Roll Tide household, and quite often after Maddie goes potty (#2), she’ll say, “Oh, that’s a big War Eagle” as she flushes. Yep, I’ll agree, “Kids say the dardest things!”

p.s. It’s great to have those good laughs to keep us sane it this otherwise crazy world, isn’t it!

Kids do say the darnedest things. Kali calls a toot a frog and she will tell you if it was a big frog or a little frog.
Loving the posts!!
Heather, one thing that I have learned recently with my 3 year old in a big boy bed…and this may not work with you….but we have decided to let him pick ONE toy to sleep with in his bed. BUT, the rule is, if he gets out, we take it away. Not once has he gotten out. He NEVER wants to give up that toy. And, he always falls asleep within a few minutes then it falls out of the bed anyway. Also, (and I’m only telling you this advice b/c we just went through it), I think it helped for us to set RULES for a big boy bed. And, EVERY night we would repeat them and have him repeat them. At 2 and early 3, we just said Rule #1 – You can’t get out. Then, as they get older, you can say “You can only get out for emergencies (potty being one of them). I can’t even remember the other rules (there were only 2 or 3) but it seemed to work well. I’m sure it will all be fine!!! Hang in there!!! And, by the way, my boys have gone crazy over corn lately too! So funny!
